Every project begins with your story.
Cinematic, layered interiors rooted in historical preservation and storytelling — for houses across Philadelphia + Palm Beach and nationwide.
Founded by Lucy O'Brien, Tartan & Toile takes on large-scale renovations and custom interiors. We salvage and restore what was well made, and weave past and present into rooms that work for modern life.
Tartan & Toile is an interior design firm based in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, serving Philadelphia, the Main Line, Greater New York, Palm Beach and clients nationwide. We specialize in historic home interiors, full-home renovations and custom interiors.
About the studioEnvironments
A cramped third floor turned into a full family suite. A gentleman's library. A historic house, restored rather than rebuilt.
Every house begins with its own story. These are a few of the environments we have had the pleasure of working on.
